[STRANGE!]: A Single Backdoor Secret On How To Get Multiple Job Interviews

Hey job hunter!

CV writing and preparation skill is one art every working-class should acquire. This is because migration is a common trait to all in this category.

For the fact that that CV you've been carrying about is so stale and doesn't have that potency of getting selected despite the load of certificates stated in it shouldn't qualify just anyone including you to join others in saying "there is no job".

That CV you asked that school cert business centre guy to prepare for you with ₦100 is what you want a CEO of a serious firm to shortlist? The same CV that was prepared for a cleaner which was edited for you at the business centre is what you want to use to secure a job that will pay you well? C'mon, you are the one killing yourself - halt lying on your village people.

Well, this piece might be a long run - because I intend to expose you to that single minor mistake you've been making as regards securing your dream job; and how to practically fix this issue.

If you've noticed the trend, you will agree with me that the era of physically distributing your CV and credentials is far gone.

Everyone and every business who has a position to be filled now prefer to see what job hunters like you have got via email before they decide on those to invite.

I know you are familiar with this line:

"...send your CV to the email below. Kindly note that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the next phase".

As things stand, the competition is so ruthless to the point that for just one job opening, HRs, Recruiters , Admins would have to read through hundreds or even thousands of job applications.

However, the advent of email technology and other technological sophistications have made it extremely easy for updated folks to cope with but as well made things extremely difficult for their outdated counterparts.

For the first phase of job hunting, the competition is not just about the weight your CV carry, it is about being crafty enough to be spotted in the equally qualified crowd.

Why do people wear makeups to events? Why do they dress gorgeously to occasions? Isn't it about standing-out and looking presentable? Our appearance as a lot to do with people impression of us and how the address us right? Have you heard people say first impression matters most?

Don't be deceived, majority of the rejection you have suffered over the years could be as a result of a awkward impression you CV is giving about you to those you send them to - you know you won't be there when the recruiter would be reading his emails.

A research conducted said that, to make a decision on whether or not an applicant should be shortlisted and contacted, it takes recruiters an average of 2mins of reading a CV after a random pick or software selection from the enormous pool of applications forwarded to their email.

So the two things that will always keep your CV at the rock bottom of the crowd are;

1. Poor formating and structure
2. Lack of carefully distributed industrial keyword on your resume.

Have you ever wondered why you keep sending your CVs to various emails and yet no one has ever reached you back for interview?

Compared to before, the dimensions of the unemployment pool has enormously grown and it's seemingly beyond measure. It's unfortunate you aren't the only one with such fantastic grade you brag about - including all those foreign/online professional certifications.

The labour market is just too matured to the point that even if you are the ideal candidate for the position, you might not be spotted for evaluation and selection if you aren't clearly visible in the pool.

You see, there are 3 phases in the employment process.

1. The application phase - which is often flooded with prospective applicants.
2. The screening phase - comprising of a few shortlisted and contacted applicants)
3. Interview/negotiation phase only for needed and successful applicants.

Looking at the above phases, many applicants, including yourself may not have known what tactics and strategies are needed to scale through the first phase. The major work of job hunting in this clime is scaling through the first phase among hundreds of equally qualified mates.

It is obvious you have the intelligence and expertise for the positions you've been applying for; even with interesting paperworks to back it up from reputable orgs. The likely issue you may not have been giving keen attention to is possibly the appearance effect of your CV on your targets.

Why would a young guy keep staring at the physique of a passing lady to the point that he feels a spark to approach her and engage her in a chat? Your answers are as good as mine!

Now let's take a look at these few CV samples:

CV Sample 1:
CV Sample 2:
CV Sample 3:
CV Sample 4:
CV Sample 5:

If your CV can't stand at par with these four samples (not in terms of content but attention grabbing) then forget it; you should no longer border wasting your precious time submitting it because you can never be invited for the second phase.

In fact, your CV could be a determining factor why since you were discharged from the NYSC scheme, it’s as if no one is ever reading your resume; yet you keep submitting...in fact, you've submitted close to a hundred of it with no single interview call up.
